Virgie Angeline Adkins Bentley, age 93, of Marrowbone, Ky, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at the Pikeville Medical Center. She was born on June 12, 1915, the daughter of the late James Henry and Emma Williams Adkins. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Bentley, by one son Oliver Bentley and by several brothers and sisters.

She is survived by four daughters, Myrtle Marie Easterling of Marrowbone, KY, Wanda Faye Thacker of Marrowbone, Patricia Lynn Bentley of Marrowbone and Panza Mae Miller of Marrowbone, by two sons, Lester Gene Bentley of Marrowbone and James Irvin Bentley of Pikeville, KY, by two brothers, Homer Adkins of Owsley, KY and Noah Adkins of Michigan, by 18 grandchildren, and several great and great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2008, after 6 p.m. at the Lucas & Son Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Little Hattie Old Regular Baptist Church with Old Regular Baptist Ministers officiating. Burial will follow in the Alvin Bentley Cemetery at Rockhouse, KY.
