Dorris Petty, 98, of Caldwell and formerly of Rockdale, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014, at Copperas Hollow Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Caldwell. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Caldwell. Services will be held at 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 19, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Alan Gardenhire officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery in Rockdale.

Dorris was born in Big Hill, Texas, to the late Captain Maloy and Martha Evaline (Lindley) Rasco. She attended Brady High School and on November 15, 1936, she was married to William Alfred "Bill" Petty. She enjoyed quilting, cross stitch, crossword puzzles, and playing "42". Most of all she enjoyed her church, Rockdale Christian Fellowship and spending time with her family.

Dorris was preceded in death by her husband, William A. "Bill" Petty; brothers: Leonard L., Jack U., and Jim Rasco; sisters: Ellen Rosco Hughes, Bessie Rasco Finnigan, Alva Rasco Alley, Vera Rasco Becica, Ona Rasco Lockhart, and Eunice Rasco; and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Blanchard.

Survivors include sons, David Ronald Petty and wife, Frankie, of Pearsall, and Stanley Petty and wife, Lora, of Caldwell; daughter, Judy Jaecks and husband, Garland, of Caldwell; eight grandchildren; nineteen great-grand-children; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, nieces, and other relatives.
