Topeka (KS) Capital-Journal, February 21, 2002:
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Fern Kathryn Freese, formerly of Holton, Kan., died Wednesday, Feb. 20, 2002, in a Springfield, Mo., hospital.

She was born on a farm near Cabool, Mo., the daughter of Charles C. and Cora Belle Sutton Francis.

Mrs. Freese was a member of Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church in Springfield, Mo.

She married Calvin Vester "Sock" Freese on May 16, 1936, in Salem, Ark. He died April 7, 1971....

A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Funeral Home South in Springfield, Mo. Burial will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bado Cemetery in Cabool, Mo.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon Mission Ministries and sent in care of Rick Barber, Jefferson Avenue Baptist Church, 316 E. Sunshine, Springfield, Mo., 65807; or the Holton Community Hospital Building Fund, 1110 Columbine Drive, Holton, Kan., 66436.
