Funeral services for Ole G. Albertson, 72, were conducted from the North Viking Lutheran Church in Maddock on 9 Jan 1966. Rev. Elmo Anderson officiated and interment was in the North Viking Lutheran Cemetery. Mr. Albertson died at his residence in Maddock on 5 Jan 1966. He had apparently been in good health that morning but was stricken while backing his car out of his driveway. He succumbed immediately. Honorary pallbearers were Paul Wold, O. B. Knote, Henry Wisness, Leslie Haugen, Walter Lee and Alton Jacobsen. Active pallbearers were Irvin Prichard, Dr. A. W. Neumann, Harley Summers, Leo Spriggs, William Hoberg and Ralph Westby. Wheeler Funeral Home of Maddock was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Albertson was born on 24 Mar 1894 son of George H. and Bertina Albertson in Ridgeway, IA. He was baptized and confirmed and attended rural public schools in Ridgeway. On 28 Nov 1916 he was married to Ella Amanda Hove in the Lincoln Lutheran Church in Ridgeway. In 1922 Mr. and Mrs. Albertson moved to a farm southwest of Maddock where they farmed until 1960, when they retired and moved to Maddock. In later years, Mr. Albertson had been employed as caretaker of Magic Lanes Bowling Alley in Maddock. Mr. Albertson was a member of the North Viking Lutheran Church and had served his church as a trustee. He had also held various offices in the South Viking township. Mr. and Mrs. Albertson celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary in Maddock on 27 Nov 1966. Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Mrs. Arnold (Elaine) Green of Maddock, and Mrs. Donald (Arlene) Brothers of Fargo; three brothers, Herman Albertson and Melvin Albertson both of Ridgeway and Arnold Albertson of Waterloo, IA; two sisters, Mrs. Jeanette Peters of Lacrosse, WI and Alice Hovden of Ridgeway and five grandchildren. Mr. Albertson was preceded in death by a son, Marvin, who was killed World War II in 1944.
