David Edward Bowman, 86,
Highfield, Md., died at 8:10 p.m. Wednesday at the Washington County Hospital in Hagerstown, Md., where he had been a patient, for the last four weeks after an appendectomy.

He had recovered from the operation but complications developed.

He was born at Pleasant Valley, Washington County Md., the son of David and Elizabeth Warner Bowman and had spent his entire life in Pleasant Valley where he had farmed until five years ago when he made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Oscar McCleaf of Highfield, Md.

He was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Pentecostal Church of God.

Surviving are his wife, Julia Ann Tracy Bowman; these children, Emory Bowman, Smithsburg; Maurice Bowman, of Boyus, Md.; Mrs. Margie Duncan and Mrs. Oscar McCleaf, both of Highfield; a stepson, Stanley Kuhn of Oregon, Id; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three brothers, John Bowman, Cleg Bowman and Marion Bowman, all of Smithsburg.

Funeral service will be held Saturday at 2 o'clock from the United Brethren Church at Pleasant Valley in charge of Rev. Mark Summers. Interment will be made in the adjoining cemetery.

Friends may call Friday evening from 7 until 9 at the Grove Funeral
Home.
