John Lee Brim, 80, died Tuesday, September 17, 1991 in Wellington.

Mr. Brim was born January 11, 1911 in Hollis, Oklahoma to Denis E. Brim and Molly M. Groom Brim.

He married Roxy Kuykendall at Hollis in 1930. He was a member of the First Baptist Church where he served as a deacon.

He and Mrs. Brim, longtime resident of Collingsworth County, have been actively involved in specialized, organic farming, until his death. In 1950 he received the Greatest Achievement Award for Restoring Worn Out Land, awarded by the Fort Worth Press, and the Outstanding Soil Conservationist of the Salt Fork Soil and Water Conservation District in 1965. He was recognized as a distinguished director and outstanding conservationist in 1979 by the Salt Fork Soil and Water Conservation District.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Mae Brim, in 1949, and two brothers, Denzil and David Brim.

Survivors include his wife, Roxy, of the home, a son, Burl J. Brim of Ashland, Oregon; two sisters, Edna Campbell of Red Bluff, CA and Virginia Crow of Childress.

Other survivors include six grandchildren, Burl J. Brim, Jr., Shelly Buttel, Shannon DeForest and Bary K. Brim, all of Ashland, Oregon; and also, Katrina Jeanet of Fairbanks, Alaska and Heather Gregware of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren.
