William Hopkins "Buck" Bailey b 22 Oct 1839 in Athens, Claiborne Parish, Louisiana d 22 Apr 1919 in Athens, Claiborne, Louisiana. Buck served in the Civil War and lost two brothers: John Wesley in Fredericksberg, Virginia, and, Edward C in Battle of Spottsylvania Courthouse, Virginia.

Mae Catherine and Dees Bailey had two children:

Died 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7, 1990, at Flannery Oaks Guest House. She was 84, a native of Bienville and a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., until religious services at 3 p.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Jim Bain. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. Survived by a daughter, Louise Easley, Baton Rouge; a sister, Mary Lee Miles, Taylor; four grandchildren, Sue Ann Miller, Baton Rouge, Kathy Lowe, Iowa, Nola "Tootie" McDonald, Livingston, and Sherry Griffin, Baton Rouge; and seven great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband, Benjamin ValDees Bailey; and a son, Tracy Bailey. Pallbearers will be grandsons-in-law and great-grandsons. She was a member of Istrouma Baptist Church.
