Lloyd (Gabby) Arledge, 82, of Abilene, died Friday, March 14, 2014, at a Llano care center. Graveside services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 17, 2014, at the Rubottom Cemetery near Marietta, Oklahoma, under the direction of Bailey-Howard Funeral Home of Clyde. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Gabby was born June 13, 1931, in Courtney, Oklahoma, to A. B. and Georgia Ann (Beauford) Arledge and attended school in Courtney. He was the widower of Lucille Gafford whom he married January 7, 1954 in Gainesville, Texas. Gabby worked as an oilfield truck driver and served in the U.S. Navy. He was a Baptist. Gabby moved to Abilene from Piersall, Texas, in 1978.

Gabby is survived by three sons, Chester Douglas Arledge and wife Janie of Clyde, Lloyd Carl Arledge and wife Barbara and Wesley Lynn Arledge and wife Francis, all of Abilene; one brother, Bill Arledge and wife Betty of Rubottom, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; one daughter, Shirley Darlene Arledge; four brothers, Eddie, Frank, Chester and Carl Arledge; and two sisters, Evelyn Hooks and Hattie Mayes.
