Mrs. Gena H. Bohnsack, 71, a native of Montpelier township, died at 5 a.m. Sunday in her home in Sunbury, Ia., after a lingering illness.
Born Nov. 11, 1869, in Montpelier township, she was educated in that community and on Nov. 10, 1892, married Otto Bohnsack in Rock Island. The couple farmed in Montpelier township until 1917 when they moved to a farm near Sunbury where they resided until they retired in 1930 and moved to Sunbury.
Mrs. Bohnsack was a member of Zion Lutheran church, Wilton, Ia.
Surviving are the husband; a daughter, Miss Pearl Bohnsack, at home; two sons, Fred, Sunbury, and Arthur, Taintor, Ia., and two grandchildren. Two brothers preceded her in death.
The body was brought to Davenport and taken to the Runge mortuary where it will remain until 11 a.m. Tuesday when it will be removed to the Presbyterian church in Blue Grass for services at 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Blue Grass cemetery. The family requests that flowers be omitted.
