James Edward Joseph Christen of Humble, Tex., formerly of Austin, Tex., and Pittsburgh, Pa., passed away December 6, 2005, after a nine-year battle withy cancer. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa. on April 3, 1941, to John and Reve Christen.

Jim served in the Navy and Air Force from 1958-1967. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business from The University of the State of New York. He was proud to have worked in the steel industry for 20 years and then the computer industry for another 20 years.

As a loving lifetime companion of 44 years, he will be greatly missed by his wife LaVerne Falco Christen. He is survived by his children: sons Darrell, Daniel and wife Mary, Dean and wife Sarah; daughters Denise and husband Mark Oliver, Dina and husband Joe Gage; brothers Jack, Jeff, William and wife Sue; sister Tricia; and grandchildren; Michael, Kristen, Derek, Arianna, Lauren and Joseph James.

A mass was held Monday morning, December 12, 2005, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church, Humble, Texas. Following the mass a military honor service was held in the chapel of the Houston National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
