Monta Lee Kells was the daughter of Milton Minturn and Louisa Frances Adams Jenkins and the mother of Jeanna Kells Carr. Mrs. Kells was an elementary school teacher, teaching in one and two room schools in Pendleton and Grant Counties in Kentucky as well as in the consolidated schools. She taught in the Middletown, OH public schools as well. On 7 Mar 1926, she married Thomas Marcellus Kells, son of Thomas and Drusilla Pike Kells. They later divorced. On 24 Dec 1937, she married Emmitt Dance.
