George Knibbs, of Somerville, April 21, 1970. Husband of Eva G. (Reid) Knibbs of 150 Powder House Blvd. Father of G[eorge] Russell Knibbs of Belmont; J[ames] Robert "Bob" Gibbs [d. 20 Jul 1995, Laconia NH] of St. John, Mich., serving in the U.S. Marine Corps; and Richard W. Knibbs of Somerville. Brother of James Knibbs of Truro, Nova Scotia.

Funeral service at the First Congregational Church, 89 College Ave., Somerville, on Saturday, April 25, 1970, at 10 a.m. Calling hours at the Wilson Chapel, 28 College Ave., Somerville, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Interment Puritan Lawn Cemetery.

George Knibbs and James Knibbs were British Home Children emigrated to Canada by Middlemore Homes. On May 23, 1920, they arrived in Halifax, Nova Scotia, aboard the Minnedosa with their travel party and taken to the Fairview Receiving/Distributing Home.
