OBITUARY-
ADAMS -- A Mass of Christian burial will be offered for Augustine Jax at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Adams. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mr. Jax, 87, of Adams and a retired longtime Johnsburg-area farmer, died Wednesday (July 14, 1993) at his home.
Born May 28, 1906, near Johnsburg, he attended Johnsburg schools. On May 21, 1935, he married Marie Smith in Johnsburg, and they farmed in the area for 35 years before retiring and moving into Adams in 1970. Mr. Jax was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Richard of Austin and Roger of Adams; two daughters, Mary (Mrs. Gene) Millenacker of Rochester and Carol (Mrs. Rick) Brumm of Stacyvile, Iowa; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, Sophronius of Adams; and a sister, Bertha (Mrs. Leo) Emanuel of Adams. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.
Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Adams Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. Friday.
