IS DEATH VICTIM

Widow of Late Eugene Fifeld,
Former Commissioner, Dies Today.

Mrs. Sarah Margaret Fifield, know to many people in Porter Co., as "Aunt Mag", and a life-long resident of the county, died this morning at 2 o'clock at her home in Mc Cool, following a three months illness. She was 81 years of age.
The decedent was born at Flint lake north of Valparaiso, on Feb 20, 1858, the daughter of Jonathan Wise and Margaret Clemmons (Wise). Her father operated a blacksmith shop at Flint lake.
Mrs. Fifield will be recalled by many persons for the loving service rendered by her during her lifetime. She was much beloved by all who knew her and her death was a profound shock to her numerous relatives and friends.
Her husband, the late C. Eugene Fifield, served as county commissioner, and died on March 4, 1925, while serving in this position.
Three children born to this union died. Bennie, age four, on Sept. 14, 1891, and two male infants at birth, one in July, 1897, and the other in June, 1905. Three sisters and three brothers also preceded her in death, she being the last of the immediate family.
Surviving are one son, John W. Fifield, of McCool; 11 nieces, 31 nephews and numerous other relatives.
Memorial services are tentatively set for Sunday at 2:30 p.m. at the McCool Methodist Episcopal church. Burial will be in McCool Cemetery.
