Independence – Amelia Minerva Alexander Scott, 78, died at the home of her son, Otis, in Valsetz, April 9. She was born in Caldwell county, Mo., March 13, 1865, daughter of James A. and Martha Alexander. At the age of four months she came west by Wagon Train, with her parents. She was united in Marriage to William A. Scott at Independence on May 5, 1897. Two sons were born, Paul A. Scott and J. Otis Scott. Mr. Scott passed away March 24, 1934.
Mrs. Scott is survived by her two sons, Paul of Portland and Otis of Valsetz; two brothers, John H. Alexander of Anaconda, Mont., and Perle R. Alexander of Salem; three sisters, Mrs. Florence Stapleton, Mrs. Viola Simonton, both of Independence, and Mrs. Ida Scott of Monmouth; also by six grandchildren and many friends.
