Rites Tomorrow For Mrs. Fugate
Funeral services for Mrs. Myrtle Love Fugate, widow of John Clinton Fugate, Pomona, will be held at 2 tomorrow afternoon in the Baptist Church at Pomona with the Rev Joe Anderson officiating. Mrs. Fugate died at 8:15 yesterday morning at her home. She fell Jan 2 and fractured her hip which left her an invalid. She was born in Livingston County, Kentucky eb 15 86 years ago to the late Andrew and Harriett Hurley. The Hurley family moved from Kentucky to East Prairie, Mo., and it was there Mrs. Fugate was married to John Clinton Fugate Dec 21 1892. After their marriage they lived there until 1911 when they moved to the Pomona community. Mr. Fugate died July 11, 1938.
Surviving are four sons, Burse Fugate, Bert Fugate and Clinton Fugate, all of Pomona and Charles Fugate, Kansas City, Kan.; three daughters, Mabel Fugate and Grace Fugate both of Pomona; and Mrs. Cecil White, Willow Springs; and a sister, Mrs. Maggie Boureland, Elkville, Ill.
A son, Melvin Fugate preceded her in death.
Mrs. Fugate was a member of the Methodist Church
She was affectionately known as "Grandma Fugate" to everyone who knew her.
Burial will be beside her husband in Mackey Cemetery under the direction of Robertson Funeral Home.
