Harry DeBord of Winterset, a resident of Madison county most of his life, died Sunday, Nov. 3, at Memorial hospital here. He was 79 years of age.

Mr. DeBord was born at Patterson Sept. 6, 1889, a son of Douglas and Rosella Arnold DeBord. During his active life he was a garage mechanic, but had been retired in recent years.

He was married Aug. 19, 1944, to Ruth F. Pace, who survives him.

He also leaves three children by a previous marriage, Mrs. Nina Brittain of Winterset, Mrs. Ila Criss of Castro Valley, Calif., and Mrs. Frances Coursey of San Leandro, Calif.; 20 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Daisy Wilson of Des Moines and Mrs. Lenore Crowl of Goldfield; and six stepchildren, Mrs. Harold German of Des Moines, L. E. Pace of Van Nuys, Calif., Mrs. Pauline Larsen of Denver, Colo., Mrs. Shirley Wiles of Madrid, Mrs. Lorraine Miles of Polk City and Robert Pace of Des Moines.

Funeral services were held this Tuesday from the Collins Funeral home in Winterset, conducted by the Rev. William E. Bowles, pastor of the First Christian church here. Burial was made in Winterset cemetery.
