Freda Mae Day Allman was the wife of Orval Lee Allman ( married March 23,1922 in Harrison County, WV) and the daughter of Festus I. and Amanda Bell Fultz Day.

Mrs. Orval Allman

Mrs. Freda M. Allman, 81, of Route 5, Davisson Run, died Friday, April 9, in United Hospital Center, following an extended illness.

She was born at Ten Mile District, January 23, 1901, a daughter of the late F. I. and Amanda B. Fultz Day. She was preceded in death by her husband, Orval L. (Shorty) Allman, October 12, 1966.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Carl E. (Mary Kathleen) Hornor, Santa Cruz, CA; Mrs. Tom (Betty Jean) Flint, Greensboro, NC, one foster daughter, Mrs. Emery (Marguerite) Bates, Triangle, VA; three sons, Edward L. Allman, 320 Milford St., James R. Allman, Gregory's Run and David D. Allman, Davisson Run; 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was a past president of the Harrison County Alderson-Broaddus Alumni Association, having served for 10 years. She graduated from A. B. College, where she formerly served as secretary of the association.

A member of the Clarksburg Baptist Church, she was pianist for the Peter's Brotherhood Bible Class and was also a member of the Omega Bible Class and the Women's Missionary Society. She had been a local organ and piano teacher and church organist for 46 years in the Clarksburg area.

Mrs. Allman was a charter member of the Monongahela Chapter of the American Guild of Organists, a member of Queen Esther Chapter 11, OES of Clarksburg, Omega Shrine 15, Order of White Shrine of Jerusalem. She was also a member of the Clarksburg Woman's Club and the Harrison County Senior
