The following obituary appeared in the "Indiana Evening Gazette" (Indiana, PA), Monday, November 22, 1971, page 32, column 7:

ANNA ELIZABETH BARNETT, 92, Punxsutawney RD 4, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1971, at her home.

Born March 6, 1879, in Canoe Twp., Indiana County, she was a daughter of George and Anna Schlemmer Armstrong.

She was married to Joseph Barnett, who preceded her in death in 1955.

Mrs. Barnett was a member of the St. Mark's Church, Juneau.

A lifetime resident of Rossiter and Juneau areas, she had resided at her current address for the past four years.

Surviving are two daughters and a son: Mrs. Mary Jane Kovatch, Rossiter; Mrs. William Rugh, Punxsutawney RD 4; Carl W., Punxsutawney RD 4; 14 grandchildren; 92 great-grandchildren.

Friends are being received at the Pifer Funeral Home, Punxsutawney, where services will be held Tuesday at 1 p.m. with the Rev. N.A. Pearce officiating. Interment will be in the Oaklawn Cemetery, Cloe.
