OTTUMWA - Walter Noah Dicks, 85, of 930 S. Weller, died Dec. 29, 1996, at Ottumwa Regional Health Center. He was born Nov. 20, 1911, in Lockman to Fred and Hettie Henderson Dicks.
He married Geraldine Knapp July 21, 1936, in Albia. He is survived by his wife of Ottumwa; three sons, Frank, John and George Dicks, all of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ernest Dicks of Albia and Richard Dicks of Des Moines and two sisters, Gladys Ocker of Ankeny and Ellen Lindemood of Conroe, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jimmy and Terry Knapp; a great-grandson; three brothers and two sisters.
The service will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Hillcrest Cemetery in Moravia, the Rev. Cynthia Taylor officiating. Visitation will begin after 2 p.m. today at Gilbert-Nordstrom Funeral Home, north chapel, in Albia with family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Pallbearers will be Shawn Richardson, Jason, Ryan, John and Christopher Dicks and Geane Roberts-Dicks. Memorials are open.
