Funeral Services For Reuben Gipe
Funeral services for Reuben C. Gipe, age 61, were held at the First Baptist Church in Moody last Thursday at 2 P.M. Mr. Gipe died in a Kerrville hospital after an illness of several months.
The body was brought to Mody by Denny & Witt. It lay in state at the church from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. Rites were conducted by Rev. Marion Ford and Rev. John T. Frazier of Ingram, pastor of the Baptist Church of that village of which Mr. Gipe was a member. Burial was in the Moody Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife; one sister, Mrs. Tom Hatter of Moody; two brothers, Frank Gipe of Moody and Lee Gipe of Clippermills, California.
Deceased and wife were former Moody citizens, at one time owning a farm north of town, and later owned and operated the Moody Cafe. They had been making their home at Ingram the past several years. Mr. Gipe was the son of the late Ed Gipe and his wife a daughter of the late Rev. J.W. Hiser.
