Connersville Times September 19, 1883
Zenos Powell, an old and much respected citizen and pioneer of this county, died last Monday night of neuralgia of the stomach, at his home in Harrison Township, after a protracted illness. He was seventy-eight years old at time of death; was born in Nicholas County, Ky., and moved to this county in 1826. He leaves a wife and six children living, one of his children having died several years ago. He will be buried today at 2 o'clock P.M., at the Lick Creek cemetery, Eld. E. Thomas, of Hendricks County, officiating. I. Zeller, L. L. Broaddus and Hon. Horace Elwell, of Rush County, are deceased's sons-in-law.
