Mr. Eddie W. Fant was born July 26, 1928, in Cherokee to the late Luther and Sophie Fant. He departed this life April 24, 2010, at Helen Keller Hospital after a sudden illness.
The graveside service will be at 1 p.m. today at Cherokee CME Cemetery.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was retired from TVA.
Mr. Fant was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Sophie Fant; one brother, Curly Fant; one sister, Verna Dean Malone; one aunt, Augusta Hill; one niece, Sophia Haley; three uncles, James Holiday, Lee Vern Holiday and Clayborn Holiday.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving sister, Mary Goodloe, Cherokee, Ala.; brother, Vera Lee Fant (Sonja), Louisville, Ky.; special friends, Sterling and Clezelle Swiney, Sheffield, Ala.; a very special niece, Tonya Poole, Cherokee, Ala.; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and a host of other relatives. Special thanks to Sabrina Woodard and Alacare Home Health.
Thompson and Son Funeral Home, Tuscumbia, is directing.
