Mrs. Shirley "Peggy" Inez House, age 77 of Uriah, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2014 at Masion Du Monde Nursing Facility in Abbeville, Louisiana. Mrs. House, a homemaker, was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Uriah where she was active with the WMU Group. She was also a member of the Uriah Area Development Association. Mrs. House is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Doll Snow and her daughter, Peggy Sue House.
Survivors include her husband, Ray House of Uriah; her sons, Philip (Ryan Ahn) House of Suwanee, GA and Stephen House of Uriah; her daughter, Linda Gayle House (Tom) Graham of Lafayette, LA; her brothers, James "Buck" Snow of Gadsden, AL and George Snow of Uriah; her sister, Lois Voncile Murphy of Semirah Springs; and one granddaughter, Melanie Graham of Lafayette, LA.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 12, 2014 at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church of Uriah with Rev. Mark Whittington officiating and Mr. Philip House speaking. Burial will follow in Uriah Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the House residence in Uriah (17266 Hwy 21 South).
The family is accepting flowers or donations may be made to the Smile Train (an international charity that assist children with cleft pallet surgery and training for doctors) at Smiletrain.org.
