Douglas MacArthur Long, 71, of Fostoria, Ohio died at ProMedica Toledo Hospital in Toledo, Ohio Friday, March 7, 2014. He was born January 4, 1943 in Blackfork, Ohio to Lester and Vilora (Harris) Long. He attended Decatur Washington High School in Blackfork.

On July 25, 1965 he married Brenda Kay Harris of Blackfork, Ohio and shortly thereafter moved to Fostoria, Ohio. He initially worked at a Fostoria foundry before starting his career with General Dynamics in Lima. He worked in various positions until retiring in 2002 after 30 years of service.

Douglas was a member of the United Auto Workers Union and the Union Baptist Church of Blackfork, Ohio. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid sportsman, going hunting, fishing and camping with his sons and grandkids whenever time permitted.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda Long of Fostoria; and three sons, Marty (Teresa) Johnson of Columbus, Shawn (Shanna) Long of Fostoria and Chad Long of Fostoria. He also leaves behind two brothers, Eddie (Mickey) Long of Columbus and Claude (Shelly) Long of Fostoria; 13 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Douglas was preceded by his parents, Lester and Vilora; his son, Douglas Jr. "Hunsie" Long; daughter, Belinda Kay "Sis" Long; his sisters, Donnie, Eva, Louise and Mary; and his brothers, Robert, Daniel and Stevie.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 12, 2014 at 2 p.m. at the Union Baptist Church in Blackfork, Ohio with the Rev. Calvin Minnis, officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to call on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home 301 West Tiffin Street Fostoria, Ohio and one hour prior to the services at the church. Burial will be held in the Church Cemetery.
