SHREVEPORT, LA - Mrs. Vaughn, 89, passed away on Wednesday, November 11, 2009, at her home after a brief illness. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 20th at Newsom Funeral Home, Charleston, MS. Graveside services will follow at 2:00 p.m., Friday, at the Charleston Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Jack Smith of Grenada, MS.
Mrs. Vaughn was a native of Mississippi and a resident of Shreveport, LA for twelve years. She was a Methodist.
Mrs. Vaughn was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph E. Vaughn. She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Vaughn Hamilton and husband, George A. Hamilton of Shreveport, LA; son, James Ralph Vaughn of Greenwood, MS; two grandchildren, George Adams Hamilton, Jr. and wife, Dawn of Los Angeles, CA and Jonathan Vaughn Hamilton and wife, Melissa of Shreveport, LA; one great grandchild, Colby Vaughn Hamilton of Shreveport, LA; two sisters, Joyce Allison Strider of Philipp, MS and Peggy Allison Franklin of Palm Beach, FL; and brother, Julian Kenneth Allison of Tippo, MS.
Pallbearers will be members of her family.
