City Employee Passes Away
Jacob W. Schenkenberger died in a San Francisco hospital yesterday morning following an extended illness. He was born at Scotland, South Dakota, May 8, 1891, and was 51 years of age.
He came to the Lodi district in 1898 and had been a resident here for the past 45 years. The home had recently been maintained at 708 West Locust street. For the past year he had been employed by the City of Lodi in the park department. He was a veteran on World War I, serving overseas for 18 months in Company M, 363d Infantry, 91st Division. He was a member of Lodi Post American Legion.
Deceased was the husband of Violet May Schenkenberger, Lodi; brother of John Schenkenberger, Port Chicago, Calif.; Sam Schenkenberger, Hayward; Henry Schenkenberger, Lodi; Mrs. Bertha Hoff, Mrs. Pauline Bender and Mrs. Sarah Moore, all of Lodi; Mrs. Lydia Stoddard, Vallejo; Mrs. Christina Hieb, Oakland, and Mrs. Amelia Hieb, Oakland, and Mrs. Amelia Lang, Hastings, North Dakota.
