Died at 11 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, at Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was 53, a native of Start, a resident of 9763 Great Smokey Ave., president of Alsbrooks-Guilbeau Stockyard and a veteran of World War II. Body at Welsh Funeral Home after 9 a.m. Saturday. Religious services at the funeral home at 2 p.m. Saturday, conducted by the Rev. J. T. Halley. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.

Survived by wife, Mrs. Betty Tyler Alsbrooks, Baton Rouge; mother, Mrs. William L. Alsbrooks, Start: four daughters, Mrs. Newton B. (Rhonda) Carter, New Orleans, and Mrs. George (Marcia) Bonfanti, Miss Karen Alsbrooks and Miss Kathy Anne Alsbrooks, all of Baton Rouge; son, Charles Wesley Alsbrooks Jr., New Orleans; sister, Mrs. Lelia Fuller, Monroe; three brothers, John Alsbrooks, Forest; Tom Alsbrooks, Tunica, Miss., and Leonard Alsbrooks, Miami, Fla.; and two grandchildren.

Pallbearers: G. L. Varnado, Curtis Schafer, Harry Guilbeau, Neil Norton, Lee Berwick and C. O. McCurley. Honorary pallbearers: S. E. (Mac) McCraine, Didee LeBlanc, Lonnie Dyer Sr., T. H. Glaser, Tom Fletcher, Dr. E. C. Hughes and Dub Kennedy.

He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, LSU Block and Bridle Club, Louisiana Cattlemen's Association, America Brahma Breeders Association, 32nd Degree Masons and Jerusalem Shrine Temple No. 3287.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Baton Rouge Heart Fund.
