Ardith B. was born on December 11, 1920 in Mitchell County, Texas to Jesse Allen and Gertrude Hester Cornett. A. B. attended school at Klondike High School. He was a veteran of World War II proudly serving with the US Army. He served as a military policeman and medic from 1942 ~ 1945 until his honorable discharge. On June 23, 1945, he married Virginia Brewer Hester, in Lamesa, Texas. A. B. was a former cotton farmer in the Union Community of Terry County near Brownfield for 53 years. He was an ordained deacon at Union Baptist Church by B. H. Baldwin in 1949. He was currently a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas. He loved reading, sports, Cornett Family fishing trips, his country, his family, and his faith in God.
A. B. is survived by his wife, Virginia; three daughters, Priscilla Boynton, Patricia Sims and husband, Wayne, and Wanda Murphrey all of Lubbock, Texas; grandchildren, Teresa Hickman, Stephanie Heacock, Carey and Jenny Boynton, Natalie Sims, Krystal Cipriani, Brent and Brandon Murphrey; 9 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Wayne Cornett of Midland, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents: sisters, Doris Ledbetter and Sylvia Pruitt; brothers, Allen, Barney, Jack, Bill, Paul, and Nolan Cornett, and son-in-laws, Arthur Boynton and Royce Murphrey.
The family would like to thank Accolade Home Health and Hospice, as well as the staff of Comfort Keepers.
