Mary graduated from Muskogee Senior High School and Bessie Hull Girls' College.
Mary married William P. Ott, a native of Columbia, S.C., in 1942. Capt. Ott was with the 350th Regiment of the 88th Infantry Division during the Italian Campaign and was killed on July 12, 1944, in the battle for Laiatico, Italy. He is buried in the American Cemetery near Florence, Italy. Mary and Bill had a daughter, Mary T., born July 13, 1944.
Mary married Wynne Blake on Nov. 11, 1945, and moved to Lewiston. They had seven children. They divorced in 1967.
Mary devoted her life to her children. She was active in Wynne's work and politics during their marriage. She was co-president of Jenifer Junior High School's PTA, on the Board of Directors for Camp Fire Girls and sponsored many Blue Bird activities. She was also hostess to numerous dinners and teas for Idaho Democratic candidates.
In July 1967, Mary was hired as the executive secretary for the Lewiston Chamber of Commerce. In 1976, she became an administrative secretary for St. Joseph Regional Hospital. She retired from St. Joseph Regional Hospital in 1987.
Mary traveled extensively with family and friends. The latter part of her life she took numerous cruises.
She was preceded in death by one child, Becky, who died as an infant.
At Mary's request, there will be no services. She would want you to put your money aside for a future trip, and then remember her on that trip.
