William Uhl Sr., -- Died at his home near this place on last Saturday morning. He was born near Cumberland, Maryland, and came to this county in 1820. He was in his 87th year at the time of his death. He was the last of a family of sixteen children, all of whom lived to a good old age. He was one of the pioneers of the county, when he came here this section being a vast wilderness. He voted for Jackson in 1828, and for every Democrat candidate for president since with the exception of Cleveland, sickness keeping him from attending the election. His funeral occurred Monday, the remains being laid away in the family burying ground, west of this place.
