In Alfred on the 27th ult. Mr. John Allen, aged 75 years. He died of the typhus fever after a short illness of about four days, which he bore with Christian patience and fortitude. He died in the triumph of faith and was heard to cry glory, hallelujah, in almost his last breath. He has left a wife and children, and numerous friends, to mourn their loss.
