Suggested edit: Otto Lebahn killed in auto mishap near Verona.
While riding in a car with John Johnson of this area, Otto Lebahn, brother of Carl Lebahn and Mrs. Herbert Bubach, south of town, was instantly killed on Monday evening of this week concerning which the following is taken from the Fargo Forum:
Otto Lebahn, 55, farmer living 5 miles east of LaMoure, N. D. was instantly killed at 8 p.m. Monday on Highway 13 four miles west of Verona when the west-bound sedan in which he was riding collided head on with a truck driven by Elmer Opdahl of Lisbon.
Furniture in the rear of the car was hurled against LeBahn in the front seat, breaking his neck. John Johnson, driver of the car, escaped serious injury.
Johnson is being held without charge in the LaMoure county jail pending investigation of the accident by A. C. Porter, LaMoure county stats attorney, C. C. Paulson, deputy sheriff, and Mike Morgan, state highway patrolman.
The deputy sheriff said investigation showed the automobile had been on the wrong side of the highway and that the truck was as on its own side of the highway as it was possible to drive. Opdahl was accompanie by his son, Dan.
Lebahn leaves his wife and several children. The body was brought to a LaMoure funeral home.
Just prior to press time, the Bulletin was informed by the Rev. Boettcher that the funeral services will be held at the Trinity Lutheran Church south of Litchville on Saturday afternoon, April 17, at 2:30 o’clock.
