Charmaine Dee Seybert, best known to friends and family as "Char", age 61, of Oneonta, Alabama passed away on March 3, 2014 quietly at her home after a long battle with cancer. Char was born on November 8th, 1952 in Elmira, New York, and was a graduate of Watkins Glen High School in Hector, NY where she was raised by her late loving grandparents, Charles and Grace Sullivan. She later lived in Riverview, Florida for 40 years and the last eight were spent in Alabama. She dedicated her life to health care at South Bay Hospital, H.Lee Moffit Cancer Center and retired from Shriner's Children's Hospital in Florida. Char is survived by her husband of 31 years, Melvin E. Seybert; son, Gabriel C. Whitman of Riverview, FL; and daughter, Sarah Hart (Franklin Moody) of Altanta, GA; sister, Cindy Young of Florida; brothers, John and Tim (she was preceded in death by her brother Mark); nieces, Kenya, Dawn, Jessica and grand niece Brianna; and several other grand nieces and nephews; and a lifetime collection of friends and family that she met along the way. She also leaves behind her devoted and loving cats that covered her heart in paw prints.
In lieu of flowers please make charitable donations to the Humane Society, SPCA, or your local animal shelter. Char will always be remembered by her eternal love for animals.
