Esther L. Snider, 85, of Parkersburg, died March 5, 2014, at her residence.

She was born in Pettyville, W.Va., a daughter of the late Richard J. and Elma (McIntyre) Stoops.

She was a homemaker and a retired Registered Nurse. She attended the Christian Life Center.

She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Ann Gilbert; sister, Linda Hersman; one grandson, Zebulon Shively; a granddaughter, Jessica Poling (Michael); a great-granddaughter, Kinley Poling; and three nieces, Suzie, Annie and Kitty.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Quentin Creel; second husband, Cline Snider; and sister, Eva Barnette.

A memorial gathering will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at Leavitt Family Center.

The family requests to please honor Esther with an act of kindness, a word of encouragement or a good deed.
