OBITUARY-
Nyle W. Taylor, 67, of Rochester, a retired musical instrument repairman, died of cancer Saturday morning (Apri1 16, 1994) at his home after a lengthy illness.

Born March 14, 1927, in Miller, Iowa, he grew up in the Mason City, Iowa, area. After graduating from Nora Springs-Rock Falls, Iowa, High School, he attended band instrument repair school in Elkhart, Ind. From 1946 to 1948, he was an Army paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division and served overseas. He had resided in Rochester since 1949 and was employed by Bach and Schmitt music companies until his retirement in 1993. On March 12, 1955, he married Marilyn Hagen in Kasson and they were later divorced. He and Bernetta Amdahl were married May 27, 1978, in Rochester. His wife is a retired Rochester beautician. Mr. Taylor was a member of the Eagles Club and Zumbro Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four daughters, Lynn Mary (Mrs. Charles) Moody of Silitz, Ore., Janice (Mrs. Gary W.) Gerber and Carole Taylor, both of Rochester, and Diane Randolph of Lake Delton, Wis.; two sons, David Amdahl of Stevens Point, Wis., and Gary Amdahl of Rochester; four grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; two step-great-grandsons; a half brother, Frank Stevens of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Hellen (Mrs. Harold) Daily of Alamogordo, N.M., and Betty (Mrs. Walter) Berry of Mason City. A brother preceded him in death.

The funeral will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Zumbro Lutheran Church, with the Revs. Gary Benson and Alfred Dahlberg co-officiating. Burial will be in Grandview Cemetery in Austin.
Friends may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Vine Funeral Home and an hour before the service Wednesday at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Mayo Hospice Program or the Eagles Cancer Telethon.
