Daughter of Henry S Bushman and Lovina Burgdorff Bushman. I found several spellings of Lovina's maiden name. Sarah married James Stanton Nance, 30 Jul 1885, Whiteside County, Illinois. They had no biological children but fostered three children as list on 1910 census: Bertha Hess 14, Clyde Rogers 13 and Elsie Berner 10 [14]. Listed on James memorial on Find A Grave: Having no children of their own, they gave a home to two little girls, both of whom grew to womanhood in the new family circle. They are Miss Bertha Nance and Mrs. Edward Wallingford. James died in 1917.

Sometime after 1920 before 1930 she married again to Josephus C Crom. He worked as Commissioner, Township. He died 13 Feb 1942 and is buried next to his first wife, Margaret Deets Crom in Bethel Cemetery, Milledgeville, Carroll County, Ill.

I spoke with Riverside Cemetery, 1908 E 3rd St, Sterling, Whiteside County, Illinois..815-625-0708...They gave information she was buried on 3 Aug 1954, Section: 9, Lot: 1326, Grave: 3, alongside first husband, James S Nance. He died 21 Jul 1917 in Sterling, Illinois and was buried 24 Jul 1917. He is buried in Grave: 4. (DorothyHareWigginton)
