She attended St. Savior Grammar School/ High School and went on to St. John's University in Queens, NY. She became a Registered Nurse, worked at Bellevue Hospital in New York (Mental Health Facility) and later taught nursing at the Kings County Hospital School of Nursing. She met her future husband Dr. John Brosnan while working as a nurse. They married on December 27, 1947 during the "Great Blizzard of '47." They had one child and two grandchildren.
She was a stay at home mom until her son started high school. Then she began a new period in her life, teaching home nursing in Brooklyn high schools for the next ten years until she retired. In 1982 she and her husband retired to Leisure Knoll on Long Island where they lived happily for nearly thirty years.
Mom cared deeply about other people and had a wide circle of friends. She outlived most all of her friends. She will be remembered by all who knew her.
