Etta (Blake) Brafford - May 08, 1901 - September 23, 1989 - MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 25, 1989 OOLITIC - Etta B. Brafford, 88, 710 Walnut Street, Oolitic, died at 5:17 p.m. Saturday at the Bloomington Hospital, after a lengthy illness. She was born in Lawrence County on May 8, 1901, to Daniel and Mary Alice Pruett Blake. She married William Brafford in June, 1922, and he survives. She was a homemaker and was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two daughters: Mary Oliver, Oolitic, and Donna Terry, Corpus Christi, Tex.; two sons: Delmar Brafford, Oolitic, and Ward Brafford, Miami Lake, Fla.; one brother, Ray Blake, Bedford; one sister, Venna Baker, Bedford; nine grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Day & Carter Mortuary, with the Rev. Richard Tallman officiating. Burial will follow at Cresthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 2-9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. till time of service Tuesday at the mortuary.
