Patricia Jan Shepard, known to all of her family and friends as Jan, passed away at her home on March 4, 2014. It was a blessing to have her in our lives for 60 years. even though the time feels too short.

She was born to Doyle and Juanetta Dolan in Big Spring, Texas. Her siblings include Linda Wright, Jimmy and his wife Barbra Dolan, and Bobby and his wife Starr Dolan.

She married the love of her life on Feb. 13, 1997. Glenn Massey was her husband, best friend, companion, rock and many more adjectives that cannot be described in one sentence. Her best memories include the cruises they took together.

She will be remembered by her youngest daughter and son-in-aw, Krista and Ian Coccozza, as a wonderful cook, dedicated mother, and all-around incredible person. Her eldest daughter, Denisa Powell, will be remembering the precious time they spent together and all the memories they share.

The happy memories that were created in her lifetime will continue for many generations as she leaves behind three grandchildren, Alayna and Ava Coccozza and Brittany Christian; and four great-grandchildren. All her grandchildren affectionately referred to her as “Sissy.”

She worked at Eckerds Pharmacy and then Cornell Corrections for many years.

She had a strong work ethic and made many friendships through her employment.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers, please become an organ donor. It is as simple as checking a box when you re-new your driver’s license.

Her final request was not to have a service. Her family is going to honor this request and instead is asking you to remember her in your own special way, whether it be a kind thought, memory, or prayer.

Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home. Online condolences may be made at www.npwelch.com
