Katherine T. Morelock, 97, passed away March 3, 2014 at Parkridge Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.

Katherine was born in Des Moines June 22, 1916 to John and Rose Mekus and married Freeman L. Morelock in 1936. She retired from Meredith Publishing Company after 35 years of employment.

Katherine is survived by her sons, Gerald (Becky) Morelock and Edward (Victoria) Morelock, all of Des Moines; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Freeman; son, Guny Sgt. Robert Lang Jr.; brothers, John, Joseph, James and Peter; sisters, Ann Gregory, Tona Renda and Helen Dakovich.

Katherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be missed by all those who loved her.
