James "Jim" E. Lucas Sr., 70, Kokomo, died Monday, March 3, 2014, at home. James was born January 18, 1944 in Pruden, TN to the late John & Marie (Hall) Lucas. On November 23rd, 1962 he married Patsy R. Gordon who survives.James attended Kokomo High School and was retired from Hochstedler Energy Systems in Greentown.Jim enjoyed fishing and friends, but he loved nothing more than his family. His seven grandchildren were the pride of his life, and he cherished time spent with them.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years Patsy (Pat) Lucas; three sons, James E. Lucas Jr. (Amy) , Tim Lucas, and Ken Lucas (Kandi), all of Kokomo; six grandchildren, Makayla Lucas, Andrew Lucas, Kaitlyn Lucas, Tyler Lucas, Brittany Lucas, and Emily Lucas; one great-grandchild, Addyson Lucas-Shockley; and one brother, Tom Lucas. James was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, John C. Lucas.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff at Saint Joseph Hospital and the Saint Joseph Oncology Dept., Dr. Naraj Gupta and Nurse Barb, for their compassionate care and support.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel, 725 S. Main Street, Kokomo. Services will be at 11a.m. on Friday, March 7, 2014, also at Ellers Mortuary Main Street Chapel with Pastor Bruce Mughmaw officiating. Burial will follow in Albright Cemetery.
