Stella Louise Butler Webb, 94, of Idaho Falls, and formerly of Blackfoot, passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at her home at Mt. Vernon Assisted Living Center. Stella was born Oct. 18, 1919, in Basalt, Idaho, to George Franklin Butler and Lydia Ethel Martin Butler. She grew up in Goshen and attended school through the eighth grade. On April 28, 1937, she married Edward "Jack" Milo Webb Jr. in Blackfoot. They lived on a small farm in Rockford. During this time, Jack broke ground out of sagebrush on Liberty Taber Road. In 1956, they moved to a new home on this property in Liberty, where they lived for many years. Following Jack's death, Stella continued to live on the farm and later moved to Blackfoot. She belonged to the Bingham County Lady Wool Growers and the Birthday Club. Stella enjoyed sewing, quilting, playing cards and games, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Stella dedicated her life to being a farmer's wife, which made her a fabulous homemaker, cook, teacher and handyman. Her favorite love was being with her family. She is survived by her daughters, Jeannette Chaffin (Lavar) Grover of Idaho Falls and Linda Lou Henicksman and Rhonda LeeAnn (Rob) Cox, both of Blackfoot; son, Bruce Edward (Janet) Webb of Camdenton, Mo.; sister-in-law, Velma Butler of Blackfoot; 14 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, Stella was preceded in death by her husband, Edward "Jack" Webb, who passed away Aug. 12, 1991; sisters, Susanna "Susie" Johnson and Sylvia Ashbury; brothers, Samuel, Earl, Clarence, Irvan, Leonard, Kenneth, Keith and Herbert Butler; a son-in-law, John Chaffin; a great-granddaughter, Courtney Stanger; and a great-great-grandson, Hudson Harper. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Mt. Vernon, Hospice of Eastern Idaho and the special volunteers for the loving care given to our mother. Mom loved you all. We feel like all these wonderful caregivers have become like family to us. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, at Coltrin Mortuary, 2100 First St. in Idaho Falls. The family will visit with friends one hour prior to services at the mortuary. Burial will be in Fielding Memorial Park Cemetery.
