Bette Jeanene Tolley, 83, of South Charleston, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jeanene was born in Kentucky to the late Walter and Brookie Casey and later became a lifelong resident of South Charleston. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Doyal; brother, Bill Casey; and sisters, Freda Jewell Atkinson and Opal Jarrett.

She was a homemaker, a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She genuinely cared about people and animals and would always help those in need. She was artistic and especially enjoyed painting and working in her yard with flowers and sharing many of them with friends and neighbors. Another of her greatest joys was her dog, Izzy. She will be remembered for her fun-loving spirit, her generosity and love for her family.

Jeanene attended Grace Nazarene Church, South Charleston. We would like to thank the church members for their prayers, cards, visits and support.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Good Shepherd Mortuary, South Charleston, with Pastor Phillip Lantz officiating. Burial will be in Cunningham Memorial Park, St. Albans.

Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to Grace Nazarene Church, 499 Second Ave., South Charleston, WV 25303.
