Age 83 years, 17 days, a resident of Charleston, passed away Sunday March 2, 2014 at his home.

Born February 15, 1931 at Anniston, Missouri to the late Brad & Lucille Holdness Coffer, Henry lived his entire life in Mississippi County he was a 1948 graduate of Anniston High School. He owned and operated Henry's Barber Shop in Charleston since 1956 and was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Charleston. Henry served four years in the United States Air Force during WW II. On March 10, 1951 at East Prairie he married Betty Jane Washburn who survives of the home.

Survivors besides his wife include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Brenda Johnson of Benton, Kathy & Gary Wallace of Benton and Sandy & Doug Ruff of rural Sikeston; two brothers and one sister-in-law, Larry & Shirley Coffer of East Prairie and Charles Bradley Coffer of Charleston; by seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren; and a host of relatives and many friends.

Besides his parents, two brothers, O.V. and Doye Gean Coffer; and one sister, Leota Groce also preceded Henry in death.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday March 6, at 2 pm in the Shelby Chapel with Bro. Mike McKinney officiating. Burial will follow in the Dogwood Cemetery with Shelby Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers will be Doug Ruff, Stephen Smith, Richard Logan, Dustin Robinson, Steven Still and Josh Norville. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Hall, II, Jeff Hall III and Danny Presson.
