Mrs. Emma Abbott Dies In Des Moines
Mrs. Emma J. Abbott, 84, a former Nevada resident who has been a resident at the Karen Acres Nursing Home in Des Moines, died there at 3:30 a.m. Saturday.
Funeral services are to be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Ryan Funeral Home, with Rev. Elton D. Colman of the Waukee Methodist Church officiating. Burial is to be in Nevada Cemetery.
Mrs. Abbott was born in Des Moines Dec. 1, 1882 to Eric and Martha Olson. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Howard Abbott, who died in 1945.
She leaves three daughters, Mrs. Everett (Ardyce) Swinn of Sarasota, Fla.; Mrs. George (Lucille) Maly, Chicago; and Mrs. George (Margaret) Bacon, New Orleans, La. She also leaves five grandchildren and two brothers, Arthur Olson, Waukee, Ia. and Milton Olson, Houston, Tex.
