The last Will & Testament of Mathew Woodroofe Senior:
I Mathew Woodrofe being at this prewent very weak & sick yet by the good hand of God upon me have my perfect understanding now I doe thinke meet to set that litle estate God hath lent me at some stay my will is as followeth.
Item my will is that all my lawful debts be discharged & my will is that my Son Samuel Woodrofe shall have three acres & a halfe of my ploweing land which lyeth in the great meadow next to my Sonn John Woodrofes land my minde is that
for it he shall discharge all my just debts. Item I give & bequeath to my son Samuel Woodrofe my house & my homestead & my meadow land in the little meadow & one acre & halfe of plowing land be it more or less which lyeth next the river in the litle meadow & my horse & one oxe & one young Bullock & five young catle & my cart & plow & plow Iornes of my plow & chains & Harrow & all my Tackling belonging to my Teame & all my Tooles & my arms & ammunition & my Two
Tables & Two bedsteads & my chairs all these I doe give to my Sonn Samuell with seven swine upon that condition my son doth maintaine my loveing wife his dear mother her lives time & after my loveing wives decease my will is that my son
John Woodrofe shall have two acres of my meadow land lyeing next to Thomas Porters land & one acre of plowing land over the river next to his own land which he bought of his Father And my mind is that my son John shall pay to my
daughter Hannah Seamor five pownds more over my will is after my loving wives decease that my Son Mathew Woodroffe shall have two actes of my meadow land next to my sonn Johns meadow I give him More over If my son Samuel cannot
Maintaine my wife with a comfortable livelyhood If she needs my will is that my deare & loveing wife shall have power to sell some of my meadow land for to procure a comfortable livelyhood - Item my minde is that all my outland that is layd out or shall be layd out belonging to me I give to my Son Mathew Woodroffe & my son Samuel Woodroffe to be equally divided betwixt them both.
Item I give to my loveing wife Two cowes one feather Bed & all the furniture belonging to it with the rest of my moveables in my house to be at her disspose to her daughters If she please.
