She was born in Wick (Tyler County) WV the duaghter of Jessie and Elizabeth Morris Ankrom. She was married to M.R. Ankrom on October 22, 1882 and to this union were six children, five of whom survived her. They are Guy, Mrs. Hattie Raiguel of Sistersville, Mrs. Jessie Jemison, Zelma, Ila, and Ella who preceded her in death. She was a granddaughter of two pioneer families of Tyler County. The Ankrom families being among the early settlers and her grandfather James T. Morris being one of the very prominent settlers of this section.
