Orangeburg - Mrs. Helen Rast Wiles, 85, of 575 Stonewall Jackson Blvd., Orangeburg, died Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at The Regional Medical Center in Orangeburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, at Thompson Funeral Home Chapel in Orangeburg with her son, the Rev. Dr. 'Buddy' Wiles, and her grandson, the Rev. Martin 'Marty' Wiles, officiating. Burial will be in Bowman Memorial Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Wiles, Ethan Wiles, Wesley Wiles, Matt Phillips, Sam Phillips and Andy Williams. Mrs. Wiles was born June 14, 1919, in Ridgeville, a daughter of the late Walter Lide Rast and the late Lillian Pickens Rast. She was a member of Northside Baptist Church and was an adult Sunday School teacher for many years. She was the widow of Boyce William Wiles Sr. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Robert Addison of North; a son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Dr. Boyce William 'Buddy' Wiles Jr. and Dixie Wiles of Hodges; a nephew who was raised in the home as a son and his wife, Thomas G. 'Petey' and Kay Walker of Hampstead, N.C.; five grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Friends may call atThompson Funeral Home, Inc. in Orangeburg.
