Gaines Fisher was born in Maryland and spent about 15 years in Oregon. For many years he conducted a successful livery business in Salem. He married Loudemia Victoria Ford, Dec. 18, 1859 in Johnson county, Iowa. They were later divorced. They had two sons, J. Frank & Gaines Jr. Gaines Fisher died of kidney trouble. There is no stone in plot 842 for Mr. Fisher.
